Historic Scotland: A Voyage through the Centuries

Historic Scotland:  A Voyage Through the Centuries

Historic Scotland:  A Voyage Through the Centuries is a visual journey through the nation.  The exhibition consists of a full color timeline that displays 3500 BC to AD 2000, two large maps of Scotland include the locations of castles, clans, and landscapes referencing the fifty-one paintings that comprise the show.  The display is divided into two geographical sections – the Scottish Highlands and Lowlands.  The castles can be exhibited by date of origin to show a progression of architecture development.  The paintings and supporting materials all contain tags that describe each castle and show its location- if applicable - on a small map.  Castles also list the clans / families that the structure is associated with.  The exhibit is unique both in its historic scope and artist vision.  The viewer is taken through the centuries of Scotland.  This original exhibit has a wide appeal and attracts those interested in Scotland, castles, and/or European History.  In addition, architects, historians, artists and those of Scottish ancestry have also attended previous exhibitions.
